Munich Machine Biography

Munich Machine was created by Giorgio Moroder, one of the most assiduous and respected music producers of all time, whose pioneering synthesizer techniques helped to establish and proliferate electronic dance music. Working with many of his regular musicians he and Pete Bellotte started producing material under the name Munich Machine in 1977 with the release of the classic self titled 'Munich Machine' LP, of which 4 of the tracks were written by Donna Summer including a cover of Summer's 'Love to Love you baby'. This was followed by two further albums and a number of singles were released.

'Get on the Funk Train' reached no. 41 in the UK chart on 10th December 1977, and is one of the most remembered tracks. The vocals on the track were credited to 'The Midnight Ladies'. Percussion was provided by Keith Forsey who also played with Amon Duul and 'Disco Circus' and also produced work for Billy Idol, amongst other artists.
