Chain Reaction - Dance Freak

"I just want to Dance with you!"

My review of 'Dance Freak'

Such a raw sounding track, with vocals that are so full of life!.......
The track has a great guitar riff intro with percussion before the superb horns come in.

There's a reallly nice break with some synth electronica and the stagnated vocal samples come back in with the guitar and bass line. The vocals become more melodic and the track really starts to take off, "funky music is what we neeeeeeed!"

IF ANYONE READING HAS FURTHER INFORMATION ON 'CHAIN REACTION' AND WOULD LIKE TO SHARE IT... PLEASE CONTACT ME VIA THE COMMENTS!!! Thanks!

Who were Chain Reaction?

...is a really big question. It's probably easier to say who weren't Chain reaction, because the name is linked to a number of bands over a number of decades including the band that 'Steven Tyler' of Aerosmith was part of. This single, although now considered a huge classic well loved anthem, has so much mystery surrounding it along with the band, true facts seem to have been lost over time.

There are some unanswered questions with regards to this track and the band, however one some things are known for certain. Chain reaction hailed from New York and the single was released on the Sound of New York Label; Produced by Harold Sargent and Dwight Brewster and promoted by Peter Brown and Patricia Brown of P&P records. It was covered by the "South Bronx Community Project" after having won a local competition.

A second single under the name Chain Reaction was also released - "Changes" b/w "Sweet Lady". This was also produced by Harold Sargent, so is presumably the same 'Chain Reaction'.

Even though the origins of the track have faded into obscurity, the music lives on. The Track has been re-issued and licensed on compilations including 'Disco Juice' P&P records compilation and the albums...
