Mini Biography for 'Kat Mandu'


Kat Mandu's lead singer and co-writer Jimmy 'Bullet' Ray was born in Guyana, South America. As a child he was always a strong singer, guitarist and musician and studied music in New york. He toured in both Europe and America and across the Caribbean playing with different artists such as Sam & Dave, Ben E. King, Carla Thomas and Odyssey.

He started to perform and co-write under the name Kat Mandu in 1979 and released three albums and a number of singles throughout the 1980's. The Kat Mandu single 'The Break' is renowned through the world as a dance floor disco classic, and the single 'I Wanna Dance' went gold.
